Desiree is running for the Desert Healthcare District because she believes we can do more to build a healthier Valley.

Desiree is a career educator. She knows firsthand how medical care and services can change outcomes for kids, and it starts with access. From glasses and braces to annual checkups and mental healthcare - our kids and families deserve leadership that will prioritize their needs.

Desiree believes the Desert Healthcare District should work for all of us

One of the biggest challenges facing the Coachella Valley is our serious shortage of healthcare providers.

Desiree believes the District Board’s biggest priority should be recruiting and keeping physicians and nurses in the Valley. By strengthening our healthcare workforce, The Desert Healthcare District Board can help ease wait times and deliver more opportunity for patients to seek and receive the healthcare they need.

Desiree Will Focus on Results

Desiree believes the District should stay focused on clear priorities that strengthen healthcare access, serve the entire Valley, and make sure public resources are used transparently and effectively.

Make sure the entire Valley is served by our District

District investments should serve the whole Valley, not just the communities that are easiest to reach or quickest to organize.

Take meaningful steps to grow our local healthcare workforce

The provider shortage is the constraint behind almost every access problem. Strengthening the healthcare workforce is the durable fix, and it takes years of steady investment.

Deliver real, measurable results

Set clear goals and track progress so residents can see what’s working.

Bring every part of our community to the table

Bringing people together is the part of this job Desiree has done her entire career. The right partners in the room early is usually what separates a program that works from one that does not.

Make District spending clear and transparent to residents

Transparency and accountability, as a standing expectation rather than something the public has to go looking for.
